ITINERARY DETAILS
DAY 1
Welcome to Italy! Land of food, history, enchanting natural beauty, and music. Your first stop is Sanremo, the coastal city facing the Ligurian Sea and close to both the French and the Italian Riviera. Your private driver will pick you up from the Nice Côte d'Azur Airport and transfer you to your luxury hotel of choice. Spend your first day in Italy by taking a relaxing stroll in the city center, where you can taste lovable local specialties and discover historical sites such as the Ariston Theater and the Japanese gardens.
DAY 2
Start your discovery of the idyllic natural beauty of Northern Italy by touring the Ligurian Western Riviera, a location that inspired the talent of Claude Monet in 1884. Just like the famous painter, let yourself be inspired by the palm trees, olive groves, and fragrant Mediterranean greenery of the Nervia Valley, where you will have some time to explore the medieval villages of Dolceacqua and Bordighera. Eventually, before heading back to Sanremo you will have the chance to stop at a wine estate and taste some delicious local wine.
DAY 3
Add a sprinkle of French magic to your itinerary by embarking on a day trip with a private driver to the world-famous French Riviera, an area known for its enchanting villages and luxury coves such as Nice and Monte Carlo. During this tour, you will be able to stroll through the beautiful lemon plants in Menton, and the narrow medieval streets of Eze, and soak up the vibrant life of Nice. Local guide available on request.
DAY 4
Sit back and take in the views of the Ligurian and Piedmont countryside, as your private driver transfers you to your luxury hotel of choice in Piedmont. This region, known for local specialties such as the Barolo wine, truffles, and chocolate, is a splendid and lesser-known haven in the shadow of the Alps, where you can spend moments of true relaxation surrounded by miles of pristine natural beauty.
DAY 5
Dedicate this day to wine and postcard-worthy towns! Your private driver will take you to Alba, the birthplace of Nutella, before heading for your first wine tasting. In a wine estate owned by the same family since the 17th century, you will discover the gentle taste of the Barbaresco wine, the star of the Langhe wine region. Barbaresco takes its name from a lovely and quaint village, which you will visit after the first wine tasting. Taste the products of the oldest winery in town, before heading back to your hotel.
DAY 6
Enjoy the beauty surrounding your hotel in Piedmont or embark on a truffle hunting adventure. A driver will meet you at your hotel and head to Monta, a small town in the Langhe where you will be joined by the trifulao - a professional truffle hunter. Together with his dog, he will lead you through the surrounding woods in search of elusive truffles, before taking a break on a panoramic terrace for a truffle-based aperitivo. After your aperitivo, follow the trifulao to his home for a private cooking experience that will culminate with an exquisite lunch with his family.
DAY 7
Piedmont is not only the region of Langhe and its enchanting countryside, but it’s also home to Lake Maggiore, one of the main lakes in Northern Italy. Your private driver will be waiting at your hotel to start your journey to Piedmont where you can enjoy an afternoon at leisure or a relaxing stroll around the lake after reaching your hotel of choice.
DAY 8
Embark on a private and guided mini cruise on Lake Maggiore, where you will discover the beauty of the Borromean Islands. These small islands are picturesque and surprising: reach Isola Madre to visit the botanic garden, rich in rare plants and exotic fauna, then take a stroll in Isola Bella, an island “built” in 1632 and home to a breathtaking terraced garden. Your destination during this day trip will be Isola dei Pescatori where you will have some free time to self-explore.
DAY 9
From your hotel in Lake Maggiore, you can also opt to add another country to your itinerary – Switzerland! Your private driver will meet you at your hotel and head to Lugano, a charming lakeside town. Here, you will have several hours to self-explore the old town, take a stroll close to the namesake lake, and admire the wonderful Alpine landscape.
DAY 10
Your driver will transfer you from Lake Maggiore to Milan train station, where you will board a high-speed direct train to Venice. From there, you will then be transferred to the Dolomites, the mountain chain that spans through Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. Here, the mountain peaks are covered in snow all year round, and the surrounding landscape provides views of unspeakable beauty. Afternoon at leisure.
DAY 11
Get ready for a day filled with adventure so prepare your best trekking shoes as you head to incredible panoramic locations in the area accompanied by an expert guide. Your private driver will bring you to the starting point of this hiking tour, which has an easy-to-moderate difficulty. With your guide, you will explore the panoramic point of Passo Giau and the Croda da Lago ring, with highlights such as the fin forest and Lake Federa.
DAY 12
Relax and recharge with some time at leisure in your hotel of choice, spend the day self-exploring the Dolomites, or embark on a new hiking adventure to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, which is among the most spectacular peaks of the entire chain. Your hiking guide will be happy to share the most fascinating anecdotes on the area, while you follow his expert lead up to the top of the mountain.
DAY 13
Continue your self-exploration or relaxing stay, surrounded by beautiful landscapes and the amenities of your luxury hotel. Alternatively, join a biking tour around the area of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the town known as the Queen of the Dolomites.
DAY 14
Your private driver will meet you at the hotel to transfer you to Venice Marco Polo Airport, where you will catch your flight back home.
