DAY 1
Zagreb
Welcome to Zagreb, Croatia’s capital. After meeting your driver at the arrival hall, you will head to your selected hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring Croatia’s largest city and be sure to ask your Travelive specialist for the best dining experiences.
DAY 2
Zagreb and its Castles
Start your day with a private tour of the city. Explore all the most renowned Zagreb sites including the Cathedral built in neo-Gothic style and one of the most valuable monuments of Croatian cultural heritage, the Church of St. Mark with its famous roof, Lotrščak tower, Strossmayer promenade, Bloody Bridge a small street which connects Tkalčićeva street and Radićeva street, King Tomislav Square with it's neo-Classical and Secessionist buildings and palaces, Ban Jelačić square, Dolac market, and the Croatian National Theatre, Ilica street. After the exciting walking part of your tour, your English-speaking guide will take you to meet your private driver to continue the excursion towards Trakošćan castle, an exceptionally well-preserved medieval jewel set in postcard-worthy surroundings. After the exploration of the castle, the guide will recommend the best restaurant for a traditional lunch before returning to the hotel.
DAY 3
Opatija
After breakfast, you will meet your private driver and start your journey towards Opatija, Croatia’s oldest tourism center. Opatija, or Croatian Monte Carlo as they often call it, is full of iconic hotels that are steeped in history, while its restaurants offer some of the best gastro experiences in the Kvarner Region.
DAY 4
Brijuni Tour
Experience the perfect fusion of natural beauty and man-made structures by visiting the Brijuni National Park. Your guide will uncover all the secrets of this stunning archipelago where you will be able to see traces of different cultures from the early pre-Roman periods to the 16th century, diverse flora and fauna, the Saline Reserve, and the Safari and Ethno Park.
DAY 5
This cycling tour will take you to some of the most picturesque and historic paths in the region. The narrow gauge that once served as a train route between Italy, Slovenia, and Istria and the Croatian part of the route is now one of the most popular cycling trails in Istria. Unique for the viaducts, tunnels, and railway stations preserved along the route, some dating back to the time when a small steam locomotive rushed through, it will provide an exciting cycling experience full of photo opportunities.
Optionally, you can spend the day on an exciting truffle-hunting or wine-tasting experience.
DAY 6
Transfer to Sibenik with a stop at Plitvice Lakes
After hotel check-out, you will meet your private driver and start your trip to Sibenik with a stop-over in the Plitvice Lakes National Park. Revel in the stunning beauty of the upper and lower lakes and create your own Instamoment under the waterfalls Arrival in Sibenik in the late afternoon, hotel check-in. Rest of the evening at leisure.
DAY 7
Kornati Cruise
Explore the beautiful beaches of Kornati National Park on a fun boat trip stopping at different islands, including Kornat Island and Zlarin Island. Take in the views of gorgeous cliffs and reefs, swim in secluded bays and optionally stop on one of the islands for a unique gastronomic experience.
DAY 8
Split
Your next destination will be Croatia’s second largest city – Split. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the hotel or opt for a leisurely walk down to the old town and the seafront promenade (Riva) to explore the lively cafes and restaurants with the Diocletian’s Palace as your backdrop. Ask your travel advisor for their favorite spots in the city.
DAY 9
Split History and Gastronomical Tour
Embark on a 3-hour walking tour with an expert local guide who is a history buff and foodie. This tour includes generous food stops so you can taste the most delicious local specialties while you walk through the 1700-year-old imperial city, getting to know the Diocletian’s Palace and the surrounding medieval highlights. You will start your food adventure on the very vibrant Greenmarket - the belly of Split - with traditional finger food from the Croatian hinterland - local cheese and prosciutto, peka bread, and soparnik – a local delicacy protected by the geographical origin on the territory of the EU. Next stop - seafood specialties in a great restaurant right next to the fish market. You will also taste two types of homemade pasta “makaruni” with a glass of wine (red or white). The tour concludes with a visit to the oldest pastry shop in Split, where you will taste traditional sweets (bobici, mandulat) and homemade gelato.
DAY 10
Cetina Rafting
After meeting your driver at the hotel, you will transfer to the scenic town of Omis, nestled between the dramatic mountains and the lively river Cetina. Cetina river is 101-kilometer-long, and it is the most water-rich river in Dalmatia. It descends from an altitude of 385 meters at its source to sea level where it flows into the Adriatic Sea. Once you reach the starting point of this rafting experience, your instructor will start off with a briefing about the activity where he'll also provide you with tips and advice on how to maneuver your raft as you go down the river. This tour will not only take you through a thrilling adventure, but you'll also discover the lush beauty that surrounds the city of Omis. Once you reach the endpoint of the rafting course you will relax over lunch in the traditional tavern located by the river before returning to your hotel.
DAY 11
Departure Day
Your private driver will meet you at the hotel lobby to transfer you from the hotel to the Split Airport for your flight back home.
