ITINERARY DETAILS
DAY 1
Split
Welcome to Split, the city that grew out of an Emperor’s palace more than 17 centuries ago to become one of the most vibrant cities in the Mediterranean. Your private driver will pick you up from Resnik International Airport and take you to your luxury hotel in the city. Spend your afternoon relaxing at the hotel or opt for a leisurely walk down to the old town and the seafront promenade (Riva) to explore the lively cafes and restaurants with the Diocletian’s Palace as your backdrop. Ask your travel advisor for their favorite spots in the city.
DAY 2
Split, Food and History tour
Embark on a 3-hour walking tour with an expert local guide who is a history buff and foodie. This tour includes generous food stops so you can taste the most delicious local specialties while you walk through the 1700-year-old imperial city, getting to know the Diocletian’s Palace and the surrounding medieval highlights. You will start your food adventure on the very vibrant Greenmarket - the belly of Split - with traditional finger food from the Croatian hinterland - local cheese and prosciutto, peka bread, and soparnik – a local delicacy protected by the geographical origin on the territory of EU. Next stop - seafood specialties in a great restaurant right next to the fish market. You will also taste two types of homemade pasta “makaruni” with a glass of wine (red or white). The tour concludes with a visit to the oldest pastry shop in Split, where you will taste traditional sweets (bobici, mandulat) and homemade gelato.
DAY 3
Brac Island
After breakfast and check-out, your private driver will take you to the port to board a ferry to Brac Island, Once you arrive, a driver will be waiting at the port to take you to your hotel on the island.
DAY 4
Day at leisure
Enjoy the facilities of your hotel or optionally visit the Blaca Hermitage site, one of the most unique locations on the island.
DAY 5
Vidova Mountain Hiking Experience
While on Brač, you will have the opportunity to hike mount Vidova Gora, the highest point on any island in the Adriatic. Your driver will meet you at the hotel and take you to the starting point of the hike where you will be joined by your guide. This moderate hike will take you through black pine woods, untouched nature, and goat grazing lands. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with one of the most memorable views in Croatia with Solta, Hvar, Pakleni islands, and the famous Golden Horn beach right in front of you.
DAY 6
Vis
After breakfast, your driver will take you to the port where you will board a ferry/hydrofoil to Vis. Vis is the most remote island in Dalmatia and due to its strategic location and past military importance, one of the last islands to be impacted by tourism. Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the town.
DAY 7
Wine Tasting or Vis Military Tour
The wine history of Vis dates to the 4th Century BC, as proven by the ancient wine amphorae from the time of polis ISSA that were found in Vis harbor. During your tour, you will meet the most original winemakers and taste their wide range of products like wine, prošek, spirits (rakija, travarica), olive oil, dry figs, etc. At the end of the tour, your guide will suggest the perfect venue for a traditional lunch or dinner with unique dishes and recipes that have been passed from one generation to another.
For those looking for a more off-the-beaten-track tour of the island, we suggest the tour of former military tunnels. With your expert guide, you will explore some of more than 30 military objects scattered across the island, including the seaside missile tunnels and Tito’s Cave.
DAY 8
Back to Split
After a ferry ride from Vis, you will once again return to Split port where a driver will be waiting to take you back to the hotel. Ask your Travelive specialist for dinner recommendations to make your last night in Croatia (this time around) extra special.
DAY 9
Departure Day
Your private driver will meet you at the hotel lobby to transfer you from the hotel to Split Airport for your flight back home.
